The Listing Division maintains the listing and billing of all taxable property including motor vehicles. All personal property is valued, given situs and billed. The Appraisal Division maintains all real property and improvements. Updates are made by the use of building permits and tax listings. The value of property is maintained and derived by a schedule of values approved by the County Commissioners. The GIS & Mapping Division maintains digital and hard-copy maps of the entire county and updates real property ownership in the tax computer system through use of deeds and other instruments recorded in the Edgecombe County Register of Deeds and Clerk of Court's Office. This office also supports the GIS needs of other county departments. Copies of tax maps may be acquired through this office.
